Descripción

Small-scale specialised civil engineering and building work associated with the construction, refurbishment, repair, maintenance and improvement of existing and new electricity substation sites within National Grid's Electricity Transmission and Distribution Networks, as well as domestic and residential works at customer premises as required.

Lotes

  1. Concrete Repairs

    Concrete spalling repairs
    Concrete crack repairs
    Complete coating of structure (dependent upon status of damage of structure and depth of carbonation)
    Patch repairs to reinforced concrete structures including removal of spalled concrete, treatment of exposed or corroded & reinforcement and patch repairs with compatible materials
    Repair of concrete structural Support for above ground pipe supports & pits including concrete plinths & covers
    Muff Repairs (The exposed part of the concrete foundation of each leg of an overhead line tower. The muff prevents water ingress between the tower leg steelwork and the tower foundation. It is cast independently from the rest of the foundations and has no steel reinforcement.)
    Sprayed concrete repairs to culverts, arch structures and tunnels

  2. Foundation

    Maintenance & repair of overhead line tower base concrete foundations & tower muffs, including earthworks, erosion control etc
    Extension of current foundations and plinths
    Building of new foundations and plinths
    Underpinning of existing structures to stabilize failing foundations

  3. Brickwork/Masonry, Render & New Build Repair

    Repair of:
    o Brick work
    o Block work
    o Plaster
    o Render
    Small scale new construction eg. walls, secondary substation buildings
    General building works (domestic & non-operational)

  4. Driveways, Block Paving, Access Road

    Installation, resurfacing and repair of:
    o Access Roads
    o Footpaths
    o Driveways
    Example material types will include, but not be limited to:
    o Concrete
    o Brick
    o Asphalt / Macadam (black top)
    o Gravel
    o Block Paving
    o Stamped Concrete
    o Resin

  5. Small Scale Roofing & Cladding Installation & Repairs

    Pitched tiled roof repairs
    Flat roof repairs
    Cladding repairs eg. storage buildings on sites which are steel frame constructed with metal clad vertical walls.
    Cladding works to indoor switch houses and other similar buildings. eg. indoor switch houses which are of steel or aluminium trapezoidal cladding on a steel or concrete frame.
    Wind or mechanical damage repair including replacement of wall light ingress panels and replacement or insertion of additional fixings to provide greater wind resistance in vulnerable areas. These are usually complicated by working in the vicinity of high voltage equipment which is relatively fragile.

  6. Small Scale Fencing Installation & Repairs

    Small scale construction of substation fencing sections and foundations
    Repairs to substation fencing and gates
    Completion of new boundary fences
    Installation of gates, including sliding and power operated sliding gates
    Construction of concrete pathway adjacent to the fence
    Installation and repair of different types of fencing including:
    o Steel Palisade fencing
    o Timber fencing
    o Chain Link fencing
    o Mesh fencing

  7. Doors

    Installation / Maintenance / Repair of:
    o roller shutters
    o sliding/folding doors
    o sectional over doors
    o folding swing doors
    o canopy retractable doors
    Install/Repair/Replacement of 'Domestic' type internal and external general building access doors with varying levels of security requirement
    Install/Repair/Replacement of Flood Resistant doors

  8. Site/Built Area Drainage

    Installation / Repair of:
    Man Holes
    Oil separators
    Catch Pits
    Septic Tanks
    Cess Pits
    Sewage Treatment Plants
    Underground Containment / Dump Tanks
    Surface Water / Foul Water / Combined Drainage

  9. Landscaping

    Preparation and submission of landscape layout and design
    Site cleaning for landscape area
    Excavation and backfill of any works area
    Planting of trees/flowers/hedges & bushes
    Gravel laying if necessary
    Turf laying

  10. Small Scale Scaffolding (NGED Only)

    Scaffolding to ensure safe access during maintenance works
    Services shall include: Survey, Design, Supply, Erection, Inspection, Dismantle
    May include: system scaffolds, traditional pole and clip scaffolds

  11. Small Scale Building Repairs & Maintenance

    · General Plumbing Requirements:
    o Plumbing repairs
    o Blocked Pipes
    o Leak Detection
    o Pipe Fitting
    · General Electrical Requirements:
    o Fault Finding
    o Rewiring
    o Installation & Repairs
    o Lighting

  12. Surveys and Geotechnical (NGET Only)

    Geotechnical Site Investigations
    Topographic surveying
