Beschreibung

Health promotion, prevention and support service, complementing GUM provision, to promote good sexual health: reduce the prevalence of STI, increase uptake of LARC. Core elements include YP, sex workers, those living with HIV.

    The commissioning responsibility for sexual and reproductive health services sits with local authorities under the Health and Social Care Act 2012. Westminster City Council and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea have jointly commissioned the Sexual Health Promotion, Prevention and Support Service since 2017 to address health inequalities and improve sexual health outcomes for residents.
    The service has the following aims:
    Provide accessible, confidential promotion, prevention and support services across both boroughs.
    Deliver targeted interventions for priority and disproportionately affected groups, including young people, LGBTQ+ communities, ethnic minority groups, people with learning disabilities, people living with HIV, and individuals at risk of exploitation.
    Strengthen community based engagement, outreach and digital delivery to increase reach, reduce stigma and support early intervention.
    Improve integration and pathways with clinical sexual health providers, primary care, mental health, substance misuse and other key services.
    Support behaviour change and resilience through peer mentoring, asset‑based approaches and community partnerships.
    Promote healthy relationships, consent and safety, reducing harm associated with sexual exploitation, violence and poor sexual health literacy.
    This notice sets out the intention to award a contract following a competitive procurement process under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR).
    The proposed contract term is five years from 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2032, with an option to extend for two further one-year periods to 31 March 2034.
